New Design Language

Our Speedport 7 device portfolio introduces a new design language for fixed-line products, characterized by a bold yet unobtrusive presence within domestic environments. The design also draws inspiration from Deutsche Telekom's ranking as the world's most valuable telecommunications brand: self-confident without being loud.

Our Approach

The Speedport 7 portfolio represents a holistic rethinking of network device design, balancing technical innovation with a distinct, contemporary visual identity. It demonstrates how telecommunications equipment can be both technologically advanced and seamlessly integrated into everyday living environments.
Accessibility is addressed through tactile symbols on device housings, facilitating identification and differentiation of connection ports for all users.
Sustainability is integral to the design approach, reflected in the consistent use of recycled and bio-based materials for the product housings. Packaging is entirely plastic-free, supporting a reduced environmental impact.
The design language is used across a wider range of products, including our MagentaTV IPTV / Streaming devices. The unified visual identity is evident in our new TV-Box and TV-Stick, both of which extend the bold yet approachable aesthetic into the MagentaTV product segment. These additions ensure a consistent and harmonious look and feel throughout our entire device ecosystem, creating a cohesive integration of network and entertainment technology within the home.

Colors, Materials & Finishes

Colors, materials, and finishes support the new design language by combining a clear visual identity with unobtrusive integration into the home. A deliberately restrained color palette conveys a confident, contemporary character without dominating the surrounding environment. The palette is aligned with Magenta, allowing the brand color to remain the primary visual anchor. Designed for a lifecycle of five to ten years, the portfolio uses low-saturation, neutral tones that are timeless, non-polarizing, and enhance the technical clarity of the devices.
All housings are made from at least 93% post-consumer recycled or bio-based plastics, aligning sustainability with refined quality perception. Bold three-dimensional wave structures and precisely developed surface textures define the visual identity, while selective high-gloss, metallic, or chrome accents emphasize technical details. Subtle variations in surface design, detailing, and form enable clear differentiation between device models and equipment levels, while maintaining a cohesive and recognizable Telekom hardware ecosystem.
