A new design language

Our Speedport 7 portfolio introduces a new design language for fixed-line devices, combining a bold presence with a subtle aesthetic that fits naturally into the home. Inspired by Deutsche Telekom’s position as the world’s most valuable telecommunications brand, the design is self-confident without being loud.

Our approach

The Speedport 7 portfolio reimagines network devices, combining technical innovation with a distinctive, contemporary aesthetic. It shows how advanced telecommunications technology can integrate naturally into everyday life at home.

Accessibility is built into the details. Tactile symbols on the device housings help users identify and distinguish connection ports.

Sustainability is also central to our approach. The product housings consistently use recycled and bio-based materials, while plastic-free packaging helps reduce environmental impact.

This design language extends across a broader range of products, including our MagentaTV streaming devices. The new TV Box and TV Stick carry the same bold yet approachable aesthetic into home entertainment, creating a consistent visual identity across our network and entertainment devices.

Colors, materials and finishes

Colors, materials, and finishes bring the new design language to life, creating a distinctive visual identity that integrates naturally into the home. A restrained color palette conveys contemporary confidence without overwhelming its surroundings. Carefully coordinated with Magenta, the palette lets the brand color remain the primary visual anchor. Designed to remain relevant for five to ten years, the portfolio features muted, neutral tones that feel timeless and broadly appealing while reinforcing the devices’ technical precision.

All housings are made from at least 93% post-consumer recycled or bio-based plastics, combining sustainability with a premium look and feel. Sculptural three-dimensional wave patterns and carefully crafted surface textures define the devices’ visual identity, while selective high-gloss, metallic, and chrome accents highlight technical details. Subtle differences in surfaces, detailing, and form distinguish individual models and product tiers while maintaining a cohesive, recognizable Telekom hardware ecosystem.

Speedport 7

Our Speedport 7 router breaks away from the conservative forms traditionally associated with network devices, embracing a younger, more approachable aesthetic inspired by contemporary consumer electronics, including game consoles. Its segmented, multi-part housing creates a lighter visual profile, helping the device feel less bulky at a time when routers are growing larger to meet increasingly demanding technical requirements.

The result is what we call “visible invisibility”: a device that blends naturally into the home. On a sideboard, for example, it might look more like a pair of books than a piece of technical equipment.

Speedport 7 Wi-Fi Extender Plus

The standalone, premium repeater included in our #besserWLAN package shares the design language of its smaller sibling. Despite its compact form, it offers more than just Wi-Fi. Its integrated mobile connectivity helps keep the household online when the fixed-line connection goes down, providing a seamless, reliable backup.

Speedport 7 Wi-Fi Extender

The most compact repeater in the product family plugs directly into a standard wall outlet. Despite its small size, it extends the existing Wi-Fi network to additional rooms throughout the home without the need for cables. Designed for simplicity and flexibility, it delivers reliable connectivity wherever it’s needed most.

MagentaTV One

The streaming box is designed to fit naturally into modern living spaces. Its compact form and understated aesthetic allow it to blend seamlessly into its surroundings. Built-in far-field voice control makes it easy to operate from anywhere in the room. As part of the product family, it reflects our approach to technology: powerful, reliable, and thoughtfully designed to stay in the background while delivering an outstanding entertainment experience.

The remote control is designed as an integral part of the overall system, making it easy to navigate and control your TV experience. Ergonomic, intuitive, and responsive, it puts key functions at your fingertips. Its shape feels natural in your hand, while its clear, user-centered design reflects Telekom’s distinctive design language.
